Mean Girls Lindsay Lohan and Taylor Momsen slog it out to be queen of lean

It was the battle of the Mean Girls, as Lindsay Lohan and Taylor Momsen stepped out in virtually identical outfits.

Lindsay, who starred in Mean Girls, and Taylor, who is one of the mean girls in TV show Gossip Girl, could almost have passed for the same person.

They both wore outfits consisting of a short, cropped leather biker jacket, navy skirt, dark tights and studded black boots - topped off with platinum blonde locks.

Then there were the two pairs of extraordinarily long legs which appeared to go on for miles.

The actresses were seen in completely different parts of the world - Lohan in Paris and Momsen on set, filming in Manhattan, New York.

Lindsay was on a shopping trip in the French capital with her sister and some friends, and looked to be having a whale of a time.

She hit some of the top designers! shops, smiling and laughing along the way.

Meanwhile, over in New York, her doppelganger Taylor Momsen was busy filming for the new season of hit U.S. TV show Gossip Girl.

The ultra-slim actress showed off her long, spindly legs in a short skirt and ankle-high studded boots.

She was joined on set by stars Hilary Duff and Jessica Szohr.

Coincidentally, both stars were spotted getting friendly with each other during New York Fashion Week.

They both attended the G-Star show, and were seen hanging out in the front row.

Some cynics out there would say that the twosome planned the whole thing - but we'll leave that to you to decide.
